AEG Upgrades v2/v3
The Stage upgrade options are suitable for the majority of AEGs running a V2 or V3 gearbox, however there are some exceptions as not all Airsoft manufacturers have the same internals. Some of these upgrade options can also be applied to other styles of gearboxes in other rifles but not all of the stages may be compatible. Please discuss with ADZZZY your requirements for the rifle you have. Also you are welcome to discuss a tailored upgrade if you have specific requirements that you would like to consider.

All upgrades completed to a full auto AEG will have a final power of around 1 joule. This is to allow for any variance between different chronos and brands of BBs used to ensure that you will pass chrono at you favourite Airsoft sites. ADZZZY will not build your rifle with the exact reading of 1.14 joules as this is the LIMIT not the target. I promise you 1 joule is perfect with a correctly setup rifle and will reach a range of around 60 meters. Expected FPS after upgrade from different weight BBs would be as follows however there will be some variance on final result.

0.2g BB - 328 FPS (Beginner weight and not ideal for upgraded AEG)
0.25g BB - 293 FPS (OK, but slightly heavier would be better unless restricted at the site you play at)
0.28g BB - 277 FPS (Now we are getting better, Good balance of performance vs cost of BBs)
0.3g BB - 267 FPS (Bit heavier now, this will be more stable and be less effected by wind)
0.32g BB - 259 FPS (It's going to cost you more but delivers a better overall performance when shooting)
Choose your preferred BB weight when deciding on your upgrade as your AEG will be built to best perform on your chosen weight of BB and you must then stick to that weight as performance with other weights can not be guaranteed.
What if I came here looking for a DMR build?
Well, ADZZZY can do that too. The way it works with a DMR build is quite simple. It is very similar to the above upgrade options for a full auto AEG. There are some differences though. For example we would need to use a slightly different hop rubber, in this case a Maple Leaf MR hop rubber is used for its larger contact pad used to apply backspin to the heavier BBs. A stronger spring would also be used.

Another difference with a DMR is that it has to be fully locked
to semi auto only, so that it has no capability of Full Auto at all.
An important part of this might be the use of a mosfet. This can
allow us to limit it to semi auto only, but it is also important to
prevent any semi lock ups on your gearbox especially as there
will be no full auto to easily unlock this if it happens. There are
various options for mosfets that can be used. We can discuss the
best options for the rifle platform that you have and the budget
that you have to spend on your build.

As some Airsoft sites run slightly different limits for the DMR rules this will need to be specified at the point of deciding on your build. Site limits commonly vary between 1.64 joules and 1.88 joules on your chosen weight of BBs. As mentioned above for the AEG builds ADZZZY is not going to promise your chrono reading to read the maximum with each shot. Your rifle will be set up within a comfortable margin of the site limit so that there is no risk of you failing your game day chrono test.

Is a DMR build right for me?
This is a good question. A DMR depends on your play style during a game. There are a few factors to consider when deciding.
- A DMR will have a minimum engagement distance for safety reason as the rifles are running a higher muzzle power. This is typically between 20 to 30 meter at most airsoft sites. So if you are not carrying a side arm you will not be able to engage the enemy player at close range.
- You rifle will only fire a single BB at any one time, so no more spraying and praying, you are going to have to make each shot count. Some airsoft sites may even restrict how fast you are allowed to spam your trigger under DMR rules. For example you may have to let your round land before firing the second shot.
- You will have longer range than the other players to make up for the fact that you can only fire one BB at a time. However to manage you expectation in reality you will be able to reach a target that is about 70 meters away unless you have the skills to aim above and drop those BBs in on the enemy player. Compared to the normal full auto AEGs that are reaching about 60 meters.
- Heavier BBs are an essential for a DMR build to ensure a stable BB flight with the higher muzzle power. They also help against the effects of wind. Be prepared for the additional cost to buy BBs as there is a bit of a jump in cost vs quantity when you start going to 0.4g and above. Good job its only semi auto....
- A DMR is not the weapon of choice if you are looking to get stuck in with the objective, rush your enemy or be the first to enter the building. Probably best you sit back and cover your team from a distance while they do that bit.
You have decided that a DMR is for you
If you are ready for a DMR then get in touch with ADZZZY who will be able to discuss your build in detail with you. You can use the AEG upgrade options (listed above) as a price guide but remember there may be some additional costs based on the hop rubber used, any mosfet required for your build or additional modification required to lock your rifle to semi auto.
